Inspirations of The Artist
Carrie has a passion for the natural world around her.She is intune wiyh natural cycles and rhythms of life. Be it the beauty of the changing seasons, sounds of the sea or movement and sound or built structures from natural materials.
Rhythm is an inspiration which flows into her creative practice. There are no restrictions to Carries creative process, enjoying working with one or many media within one composition, hence the term "mixed-media".
Carrie allows her senses to be moved through visual information, words, sounds and dance, these are fused into her unique compositions. For example, writing is a way to create texture and content. When drawing, painting and writing this builds a rhythm of its own during the action of creation, there fore every composition has its uniqueness.
“Recycling” is at the heart of the artist. She believes in the re-use and re-constitution of materials. There is too much stuff in the throw away world, yet an artist has the capacity to lead the way, to inspire and create wonderful, innovative artworks from things that have had a previous use and life span.
Carrie works intuitively enjoying materials and processes.
